Course Description
As a play therapist it is necessary to have knowledge of writing treatment plans and progress notes for accurate documentation. Using diagnostic criteria, treatment planning models, participants will be able to develop treatment plans that meet the needs of the child.
Learning Objectives
- Participants will demonstrate writing 1 or more play therapy sessions notes/treatment plans using play themes.
- Participants will learn to build a play therapy treatment plan that both gives the family/child clear direction and meets requirements of payers.
- Participants will demonstrate how to write a treatment plan using play therapy techniques.
- Participants will design a treatment plan for a specific Diagnosis using play therapy criteria.
- Participants will observe a play therapy session and practice documentation of session in the form of progress notes.
- Participants will learn the steps to making clinical observations for treatment planning purposes.
- Participants will compile a “resource list” or information page for parents of children in play therapy.
